they've received countless award awards. had the run with the 5th dimension in the 60s and early 7 #0z. the duo is back on the road and performing in annapolis. first, they have stopped by to talk about their latest cd and perform greatest hits. good morning i'm tony perkins. >> and i'm allison seymour. happy you are with us on this tuesday. happening now, raven's fans gathering in downtown baltimore for today's victory parade. more and more beginning to show up. thousands of people are expected to attend. officially kicks off at city hall. and of course, there to welcome the ravens home, tucker barnes. >> he joins us live outside city hall where today's festivities kick off. good morning, tucker. lots more folks now.

>> reporter: yeah. surrounded by a few of my raven's friends. and obviously, everybody pretty excited around here. for a big celebration that gets going at 10:45 this morning here at studio hall. expecting the players to show up and hear from the mayor here in ballot nor. and of course you guys mentioned the ravens. out to m and t bank stadium later this afternoon. what a great opportunity from city of baltimore to celebrate. my number one fan here. you excited about the big day? >> how are you doing. i waited 13 years, basically 12 years to see this. now i'm here live at the celebration victory parade. super bowl xlvii, the ravens is here and i want to say we're going to give you guys a

>> police need your help finding a missing 12-year-old boy. he was last seen around 7:20 last night. left his father a note telling him he was going to runaway and he could be found at the library. obviously, he wasn't at the library. three feet tall, 100 pounds and has a scar on his stomach and left arm. and relief this morning in alabama after a nearly week long hostage situation comes to an end. a five year old boy is back with his family and his captor killed. investigators say the decision to rescue the boy came after talks with 65-year-old jimmy lee dykes deteriorated. dykes was shot and killed but unclear whether police fired the shot or he

killed himself. ethan was taken to a hospital and said to be doing well. >> happening today in florida, lawyers for george zimmermann will find out if they will get their delay in the murder trial of trayvon martin. comes on what would have been martin's 18th birthday. deciding whether to grant the delay. they say they need more time to prepare. been almost a year since the watch man claims he shot martin in self defense. >> president obama goes to minnesota and holds a round table discussion at the minneapolis police department and says they are doing something right with a 40% drop in gun related injuries. also spoke about universal background checks and banning assault weapons while surrounded by officers in uniform. passing an assault ban will be tough but still wants congress to vote on a ban. >> here in the district today we will learn more about the mayor's plans for this year when

he delivers his address. comes a few days after the city has more than $400 million in budget surplus. that money will go into savings. mayor gray's speech is at 7:00 on i street. also happening today in virginia the senate is expected to vote on a bill that would ban texting while driving. make it a primary offense carrying a $250 fine. right now ticketed you have to be pulled over for something else and only a $20 fine. >> new this morning, the dc region is number one once again for the worst traffic congestion in the country. according to the texas a&m study, the average commuter in our area will spent 67 hours in traffic and burn 32 gallons of gas each year sitting in traffic. overall, congestion

cost drivers an additional $121 billion in 2011. conditions on the roadways are expected to get worse as the economy continues to improve. gas prices are rising at the fastest pace in almost two years. americans are spending more household income on gasoline. the average spent last year was almost $3,000 according to the energy department. that's just under 4% of average incomes. and except for 2008 is the highest spent on gasoline in nearly three decades. >> how about a little good news? >> yeah. >> time for sports breakfast. and dave, could there be -- i don't know what that says. predictor for future superbowl champs. >> who is going to win the next superbowl. first of all, about the gas prices, i filled up my tank and i noticed it going up. >> we were at the junkies, they have a tv show that debuts

this year the ravens were on the road for week two. that team has gone on to win the superbowl. who figures these things out? hope the redskins open the season at lincoln financial. that would be great. what about the odds to repeat according to the wise guys in vegas? the ravens are not the leading team to repeat. 14 to 1 odds. the niners are at 8 to 1. >> i get that. i understand that. >> you know what it does? baltimore says there we go again. no respect. patriots are the favorite s at 7 to 1. packers at 10 to 1. broncos 8 to 1. you understand that. still is a little odd. 14 to 1 seems high for a team that hit their stride. >> makes them a good bet again. >> how about the trophy gate? this is interesting story we

talked about a couple hours ago. they had the trophy here. there was a party after the superbowl. steve, the and john harbaugh was overheard saying where's the trophy? couldn't find it for a while. there is going to be at some point figure out where this trophy disappeared to for a brief amount of time. but don't worry, they have the trophy back now. tucker barnes will see it later on today. more on the superbowl outage, of course. it was funny. we talked about it last hour. beyonce did not have anything to do with this. the power outage had nothing to do. she supplied her own generator for her show. beyonce is off the hook. but it is interesting because people are still trying to figure this out. a couple months before the superbowl people warned they were worried about a power outage. and here we go, it happened 35 minute delay. but beyonce had nothing to do with it. maybe the most

bizarre thing that happened, some companies were taking liberties with this. oreo put this on twitter and 15,000 people retweeted. in the dark, no worried, you can still dunk in the dark. >> they did this during the blackout. >> that's the power of social media. oreo, very smart. >> there you go. >> how many tweets do you think went out during the superbowl? >> 23 million. >> 24. >> how many did you send out? >> about two. >> maybe i caused the blackout. >> i think oreo should be investigated. thank you very much. >> why can't numbers come like that to me? it's weird sometimes. >> coming up after the break, the doctor is in. dr. oz joins us with tips. stick around. 9:10.

look at that picture. that's one of america's favorite doctors and his wife cheering on america's favorite past time this sunday at the superbowl. all right. we all know football players follow a tough diet and workout plan to stay fit. while you may not have the resources to train like an athlete, there are a lot of steps and tricks to help you lose weight and help you get a flatter belly. dr. oz joins us live with a look at how you can change your body just in time for the summer. that's always the promise. really, can i get a flat belly by summer? >> you have plenty of time. the game was fun. it's hard with that new orleans food. doing all these fat solutions, fight off that fat and start off with smart ideas and today we're talking about how to flatten your belly out. one of the

biggest challenges for so many folks. the reality is you can flatten your belly. understand a couple tricks. for example, to get fat sells comfortable, you need to give them a little bit of calcium. having a cup of yogurt before every meal you can reduce belly fat by 80% faster. simple little technique. we think it's because of the calcium. but also binds the fat you may have eaten. so you don't absorb it on to your thighs. >> interesting. already i've learned something. >> regular yogurt? >> regular or greek or something like that? >> the stud eye was done with low fat. i like greek and 2% fat. you actually are left with what? sugar. so it doesn't make sense. later in the week on thursday, we're going to point out the reality when you take

low fat food into your diet, you are hurting yourself. you need fat in the right amount. the big message is eat real food, your body will know what to do with it. >> all right. just want to mention quickly since allison did ask you a specific question, bill her for that. >> tomorrow's show, you are talking about the hcg shot for weight loss. what's that all about? >> big controversy around this. the hormone release, women get pregnant. it does a couple things. seems to change appetite and reducing it. it also selective leah allows women to use fat on their thighs or belly to nourish the baby. if you are not pregnant, it will actually allow them to eat less. not feel hungry and mobilize fat store and lose weight faster. packing the studio with women on

the program. top researcher we're going to present and a leader of the major organization of doctors who are proficient in this area. does it make sense? is it too risky. can you lose 30 pounds a month? the women argue yes. we'll see what the doctors have to say. >> a lot of questions about that one. when it comes to weight loss, a lot has to do with body types. >> you know, the viewers have so many good ideas on how to lose weight. we collected them from all these people who lost a ton of weight. they are all bedded by medical unit. turns out that acidic acid, in pickled foods it helps your insulin work better. you can get rid of fat. folks who want to lose weight, makes sense. have pickled foods in your diet. >> good stuff. we're getting free tip s today. except allison has to pay.

streets as the city prepares to welcome in. >> tucker joins us with some of his new best friends and update on the cold weather. >> reporter: yeah, couple thousand at this point and the crowds have been building by the minute. we just got word that in addition to the mayor, the governor of maryland will be here to speak and you can see the crowd very excited about this parade a little later today. you can see everybody very excited. it's just been amazing how quickly the crowds are filling in here. want to show you quickly over here to my right we've got the staff here with the parade. and you can see the players are actually going to be brought around compliments of the maryland national guard. we have a float here. the owner of the ravens is planning to travel. this is going to be the

shining armor, although he is, there are times he isn't. >> and being able to pray about things when you are going through struggles is very important. and we pray together too. that's very important. >> and to celebrate 40 years of marriage, i have everything. i have the goodies over here. 40 years of the many faces of love cd came out. what i love about this and so excited to meet the both of you. when i saw the back and how you are making fun with the sacrifice face, the anger face. i mean, it showed me you have a sense of humor. the faces are important and accepting each other is important. i'm sure humor is important in liking each other. >> we're best friends. that's the key. she thinks i'm crazy.

shoes that are going to be recycled. rachel is with me. and mike really the most important here now. he's an adjudicateor. >> this looks like a lot of shoes. whether or not we have enough to set the record. >> did someone set it before you? >> nobody has set this before. gui ness is very strict. they told us we had to have at least 15,000 shoes. >> so you set the number? >> right. >> you are setting the beginning record. >> wanted to avoid anybody giving two shoes. we researched. look at similar things and that's how we got the number. >> you put the word out across the land. >> all over from all of our

me about your job. how many adjudicators are out there. what exactly do you do? >> we count shoes for one. literally. >> yesterday afternoon going one by one and counting them all. >> you counted? >> just me. >> you counted the 16,000 pairs of shoes? >> that's one of the parts that people don't understand. sometimes you are in the pile of shoes counting and that's how i spent my day at the office. >> what kind of training do you have for this? >> how to count. >> you have to know how to count. very important skills. we travel all over the world. we have offices all over the place. new york here for the u.s. and travel around and watching different records. >> okay. do you have like a message? you look at this pile. how do you begin? set them off to the side one by one. >> you can see, they took care of it. certain shoes are kind of turned over on their sides. basically set up a grid

throughout the whole thing and put mile markers. counting it by sections and going five shoes at a time and the final number. >> what's the most crazy record you had to verify? >> probably the highest tightrope crossing on a bicycle. >> what did you have to do? >> i had to make sure he got across. >> for that we had to measure the height and making sure he did it. that was one of the more wild ones i've seen. but something like this, the amount of different people that have to take part puts a lot of different stuff in perspective. >> does this come out in a big book? >> we have our annual book that comes out every year. and we can't fit every record in there. hopefully, this is definitely. >> got to get this one in. look how much fun we had this morning. >> and for you, we are going to be setting a report of two
